The Importance of Fact Checking – the Funny Side

My husband is from New Zealand. He has an accent. Now that we live in the United States, this means he is very often misunderstood. He’s even had the barista at Starbuck’s write his name as “Mott” on his mocha. (It’s actually Mark, if you’re wondering).

All of this is usually good for a laugh, but sometimes it can be intensely frustrating, especially when dealing with people over the phone or any kind of important documentation, contract or paperwork.

This hilarious Australian video about a home sale newspaper listing gone wrong is a great reminder as to why it is so important to be clear and explicit … and then still go back and double check everything.
